How do you get Wisconsin unemployment?

My boyfriend was denied unemployment, and I don't understand why.

To receive unemployment you need to have been let go from your previous job. If you were fired because of tardiness or behavior issues, there is a really good chance you will not be offered any unemployment. You must also show residency and must have proof that you are currently looking for work.

He is not eligible for unemployment if he was fired for cause. He is not eligible if he did not pay taxes or was working part time. He is not eligible if he was a contractor or freelancer.

No one can tell you why your boyfriend did not get unemployment except for the unemployment office. If you voluntarily quit a job, you are not entitled to unemployment.
