These claims are handled by attorneys who specialize in these matters. The bigger settlement, the bigger their paychecks. Leave it to the experts.

You must document everything! A smart idea is to keep a journal where you record how you are feeling every day, what limitations you are experiencing, how your life is being impacted, and what medical appointments you are going to. Be sure to keep all receipts for expenses!

First, hire the best attorney (reputation-wise) at the lowest contingency rate possible. Second, keep records of every expense related to the injury, such as receipts for any out-of-pocket medical expenses, mileage spent driving to/from any providers & any services you have to pay for due to the injury (eg, housekeeping). Third, your spouse should claim loss of consortium due to your injuries as well.

Contact an attorney and establish a "contingency fee" agreement. This will ensure your attorney is working hard to get you the greatest recovery possible.

The amount of compensaton you recieve for a bodily injury claim varies greatly based on the injury sustained and the state of residence. You should be able to get your medical bills and lost wages covered at the very least. Huge compensations are rare.

Probably the wrong way to put this. Consult an attorney who will get you the best to their ability, better than you could get yourself, and take their slice.
