There are a few ways to destroy the plant, either chemically treating the plant, or buy pulling the plant out root and all. DO not burn it as the oil can enter the lungs and be fatal.

If you go to a large home improvement store, such as Home Depot or Lowes, or even Walmart, look in the Nursery for the pesticides. There are many brands of pesticides dedicated to the removal of poison ivy. Just choose whichever is cheapest. I've found they all seem to work fine.

when you are trying to get rid of poison ivy the best way is to spray all the poison ivy with weed killer
