You get lice when lice or lice eggs get on you or your clothes. They must have come from another person. Lice cannot live without human blood. But they can live for a long time. You get them from sharing a hair brush or they jump from someone else to you or your belongings.

You get lice from sharing combs, brushes, clips, hats, or anything you put on your head. Children are most likely to get lice by sharing things. Beware of costume birthday parties with hats. My granddaughter got her head full of lice from the hats used. They can't go to school, the treatment is hard on them and their embarrassed.

Lice is transferred by heads touching this is why children normally catch lice. Because children are in close contact lice are transferred by loose hair. Hair should always be tied back for school or kept short. Lice make the scalp itch as they live on the hair near the scalp and behind the ears as it is warm.
