Your primary DNS is supplied to you by your internet provider. If you do a search on the internet for, "What is my IP", you will find there are numerous web sites that will show you your DNS for free. Most DNS addresses will start with a 6. If it starts with a 1, that is your internal IP address.

In Windows, click Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Then type 'ipconfig /all', and press enter. You'll see a listing of all your network adaptors, and information about the connection. Most of the time, you should get your DNS settings automatically, but you can note it here.

For Windows Users go to the start menu. Select Run and type cmd. The command prompt will appear. Type the command ipconfig /all. It will display DNS Servers ie the primary and secondary. It will be usually numbers separated by dots eg: 192. 168. 1. 1 and this we can keep track of.
