How do you do Senegalese twists?

I had my hair done once in Senagalese twists and loved it.

To start, take medium thick strand. Pinch the hair near the root. Separate the strand from the root by pinching the strand a couple of centimeters away from the root. Start twisting. Twist the strand as one and it will start to double up, creating a second layer of twists.

Hold a hair thread and touch the hair near the scarp. Begin twisting. Fold up the thread partly. As the hair thread begins to increase by two, end the twisting, position a finger in the hair thread center. interweave with your finger. Remove your finger and grab of the thread.

Curling the hair over each other until it is like a phone cord is the correct way to start these twists.
