Before attempting to disconnect your main your local power company must be contacted in order to shut off power to the house. When this is done you may remove the panel cover screws and remove panel cover. Unscrew or pull out your main disconnecting circuit breaker.`You now have disconnected your 200A Main.

Locate your electrical panel. Open the panel cover and you will find the main circuit breaker. The circuit breaker will have a on or off switch. Flip the switch to the "off" position.

first you must wear the proper PPE insulated gloves consiting of leather nner gloves with rubber outer gloves that is if the power is on next you disconnect each power lead one by one including the neutral taping up the end as you remove them now your main is diconnected
