How do you dig up a plant's root?

I want to make sure it doesn't grow back.

To dig up an entire plant it is best to dig a diameter approximately 3 to 4 inches away from the widest diameter of the plant. This will normally allow you to have the entire diameter of the root.

The only way you can do that is to make sur ethat when you dig the root base up that you get even the tiny feeler roots that will be difficult.
