All behavior is exhibited for a reason. Ignore the behavior: no eye-rolling, sighing, groaning, etc. When you've had enough, walk away or remove the child from your presence. He's trying to figure out how to manipulate you and see what works. Show him that it's a pointless exercise: ignore.

With a lot of patience! Truth be told, every year (until hopefully they are about 18! ), will present different challenges for you as a parent, but just enjoy this age of two, because trust me, it won't last forever, but one day you'll look back, and wish that it did.

The most important thing in the "terrible two's" is to be consistent and loving. Your child is changing and growing, and he needs to know that some things never change.

The best thing to do is stay clam no matter how mad you get. They feed off your frustration. I find it best to find activities the child likes to distract them.

Everyone has different strageties for dealing with this time in a childs life. Try reading 1 2 3 parenting for Christian parents. It offers great insights on positive things to do to deal with the tantrums and outburst that are so common with children this age. Also try redirection if they start to have a tantrum.

As you already know that phase that children go through between two and three is HORRIBLE. Start putting your child in time out when he's bad. Also remember to take time for yourself. Have someone watch your child while you go do something away from your house.

You have to stay consistent, try to see the humor in things, and remember that they do eventually end. Every child misbehaves at this age, but it does get better.
