How do you compare and contrast correlation research and survey research?

Correlation research is usually more accurate as the scientist interprets observed results. In a survey research some side effects might occur, for example subjects not willing to provide correct data.

Nothing beats careful and accurate correlation research for finding answers, defining trends and judging public opinion. During recent years, however, survey research is gaining in popularity, simply because it is easier and less expensive. Objective research is needed, and survey research is much too subjective.

Correlation research is determining the difference between two separate items, whereas survey research is based on surveys taken by a large data pool.

Well correlation does not equal causation so I do not believe it has a signicant impact on a scientific standpoint. However they may show a relative connection to what they are trying to portray. Some bias their results, others don't.
