How do you clean rust?

It depends on what surface the rust is on. My best recommendation is Barkeeper's Friend, an acidic powder that can be found alongside Ajax and Comet.

Almost any acidic substance can help to clean up some rust. I know that lemon juice works, and I have even heard of people using very acidic soda's to clean it up like Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper. Whatever you use, just put some on a spounge and try to scrub it out.

I guess it kind of depends on where the rust is. I use SOS pads on all things solid that have rust.
