Yes, prune those flowering vines. The rules are if it is a spring flowering vine, cut the vine back right after flowering. Other vines need to be cut back in the fall after their foliage have dropped. This will not kill them, in fact the vine needs to be rid of damaged or old growth.

Perennial means existing for a long time. In order to make it active we want to cut or remove the dead pieces in each spring season.There is no need to give extra care for this flowering plant. It has high resistance power. It will grow year after year that means it will come back every year.

Cutting back vines actually promotes growth. Cutting them back would be something to do right before spring starts. Do not cut them all the way to the root, but rather just cut them away from the house.
