How do you care for groin injuries?

I'm hoping it's not serious.

Initially, you want to ice the area to prevent any swelling. After 24 hours, begin applying heat. The most important thing though is to rest and not strain it anymore.

This is just a pulled muscle, first aid include putting cold compress on the area for 15 mins at most, gentle stretching can also be performed as long as it does not hurt too much. Before any strenuous activity you may want to apply warm compress for 5 mins to loosen up the muscles and of course take pain relievers.

Rest, rest and rest. If you try to do anything strenuous, the injury will not heal and chances are that you will re-injure this area and make it worse. Heat or icing really won't help. Try staying off your feet as much as possible.

First, try icing and resting the injured groin. If you are still experiencing pain after a couple days of resting and icing or if the pain is very severe, it would be wise to call your doctor and either schedule an appointment or consult with him/her over the phone.
