# How do you calculate time and a half for pay?

I am going to be working overtime and would like to calculate how much I will be paid.

So if you were going to get \$100 for some period, then just multiply that times 1.5 (which will give you \$150). This is the amount that you would get for that time period at time-and-a-half pay.

(If you work 40 hour weeks, and you worked 50 this week, then you'd have 10 hours of overtime). Then multiple that number by your hourly wage and then by 1. 5.

You can remove a step from this process by just multiplying the normal amount you would get by 1.5  add a comment
