To build a computer you need to buy and assemble computer parts. You need to buy a computer case, a power supply, a motherboard, RAM, a CPU, a video card, a sound card, a DVD drive, and a hard drive.

Building a desk top computer is easy, but usually not any cheaper than buying a ready made one of the same specification. Find a company that supplies computer parts including motherboard, CPU, case and drives and then following the instructions supplied or get online help to assemble the components together.

Purchase a case, a power supply, motherboard, processor, memory, a hard drive. You also need an operating system. These are the bare essentials. Beyond that, you might want to purchase an optical drive. Be sure to check compatibility - not all processors work with all motherboards, and so on.

Sites like newegg offer an option of you hand picking your components and having them build the computer and deliver it, which is often the best and cheapest option.

There are tons of different guides online that will show you how to build you own pc. The main thing to remember is that not all parts will work with one another. Basically you just get a case, motherboard, drives, cpu, and peripherals. Then just assemble everything.

To build a computer, you need to first decide what you want from a computer. If you want gaming, then you will need a fast processor & hard drive space.
