How do you answer a civil suit?

I have a civil suit I need to answer.

I think if it is important, I would get an attorney. Otherwise, I would answer every allegation, or every point they made in a paragraph. I would also try to see if there was an affirmative defense in my answer. You can throw this one out, but I think its best to say, get an attorney. :)

You can usually download the form you need from the courts website, then just write your side of the story and return it to the Clerk of the Court.

Answer each complaint that you Afirm, Deny or don't know. Include a simple explanation of your answer, don't simply deny. Also, include any evidence you have showing your position. Anything not denied is often assumed afirmed in many states. Rules may vary by state, so you should check with your states procedures.
