How do I word that I want money for my son's christening instead of presents?

He is 2yrs old & has everything. I'm putting either a wishing well or a treasure chest at the entry door of the reception.

Are you also planning on charging admission? The event should be joyous and attended by those important to you and your son. Those wishing to, will make certain your son receives a gift from them, either monetary or not. No guests should be greeted by a wishing well or treasure chest at the front door, to do so is rude.

This is a common problem that parents face for themselves when trying to delicately push people towards getting certain types of presents for their children. You don't want to make the people attending the christening feel obligated but you want to give them an understanding that you'd really prefer if they were to just give him money. Good luck!
