I am sorry to say that herpes cannot be cured. You can put cold sore medicine but they will always come back.

A great way I have found is to put a small dab of toothpaste on the infected area, it dries it out and works wonders.

If you do not want to wait for the cold sores to resolve on their own, you can use Viroxyn or Abreva (no prescription needed) to shorten and lessen outbreaks.

Herpes is a virus that also affect mouth. You need to take antiinflamatory medicines along with antibiotic. It may be difficult to completely eradicate the virus.
