Savings bond can be transfered to another owner by bring the bond to your bank and completing required form. Then a new bond will be reissued in new owner name.

If this is simply a US Government savings bond, then it is very easy to transfer ownership. These bonds are considered bearer's bonds and can simply be given to anyone.

You have to contact Savings Bond Operations Office with the Bureau of Public Debt and they will give you a sort of form. You have to complete and file the form in order to change the ownership.

You cannot transfer ownership of a government savings bond or a certificate of deposit. However, it can be cashed out and the money given to someone else.

One of the things that you can do is visit a financial advisory which you can process the paperwork easily. If you do not have the financial advisory, then you can go into the saving bond site, and their is a link where you can fill out the form and has all the information that is needed.
