The neutral safety switch is built into the gearbox of the shifter. This is a device that goes into place to keep the car from being accidentally put into neutral. Take it to a mechanic, not an easy fix.

the neutral safety switch is on the transmission. Cut the wires off the safety switch and solder them together. Insulate them well and you are done. Or you can buy the new one for 100 bucks.

Remove the shifter surround. You will see the switch in there. Just unscrew it and disconnect the wire. Installation is the removal in reverse.

Pull the parking brake. Check the fuse is in good condition. We can found the switch under the clutch. Check the wires connecting switch using digital volt/ohm reader,it should read low ohms and 12 volts. Now the neutral safety switch is ready for replacement. After replacement tighten the loose ring to avoid erratic operating of the switch.

You will have to replace the entire safety switch and you will either have to go to the local Nissan Dealership for the part or look on the internet for distributors.
