You can purchase a cylinder removal tool for cheap. I've seen them for one dollar on some web sites. A lot of them do not come with instructions for some reason. You can remove your kwik set lock cylinder fairly easily and any cylinder removal tool will work well.

You need to get the correct plug removal tool and plug follower that way when you remove it you can put the plug follower in and it will fill the hole.

After removing a cylinder and replacement you need to re-pin your lock by turning the key about 45 degrees to the right, turn plug upside down, remove the old key and put in the new key. Use a pin kit to install into existing holes on the cylinder plug.

If it is the ignition lock cylinder, disengage battery. Remove the steering wheel and then turn signal switch. You will need to insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder, turn it to the run position,after that pull the cylinder out, reverse the operation to install the cylinder.
