How do I record from a keyboard piano onto a cassette tape?

I need to send in a recording of my daughters piano playing in order to get her a try out for a special school and do not know how to do it.

Recording into a cassette tape is very simple. You of course need a blank cassette tape. Next, you would need to have a component or cassette player that can record. Just put the cassette tape inside the player and press the record button. After recording, press stop and rewind the tape. Sound quality may suffer though with this method.

If you have access to a cassette recorder, use the built-in microphone (or a mic you plug into the recorder) to mic the piano and record as she plays.

Most electric keyboards have a headphone or an output jack for external speakers. From that jack, run a cord to the cassette deck that you wish to record on. The headphone jack will likely be 1/8" while the cassette deck input will likely be 1/4". That should do it.

There is equipment that you can buy. However, many electronic music stores have the capability to transfer from CD to cassette tape and back again.
