A miscarriage is usually evident due to extreme abdominal/pelvic pain. There should also be bleeding and possible release of a mass (depending on how many months pregnant you are). This release of blood or a bloody mass should occur anywhere between a couple of hours to a day after the miscarriage. Your body will definitely let you know.

You can tell if you've had a miscarriage when you are excreting a lot of blood. Although it is usually normal to discharge a small amount of blood while pregnant, it is NOT normal to have lots of blood accomplanies with cramping and discomfort. If this is the case see your doctor IMMEDIATELY!!

I would recommend that you go to the doctor. If you don't want to, then try taking a home pregnancy test. I thought I had miscarried because I was having a very light period. My doctor told me that it was normal for some women to have a period while they are pregnant. Go to the doctor!!

A sure sign is vaginal bleeding. Spotting may not mean you've had a miscarriage, but lots of bleeding does. Sometimes, you may not bleed. You can feel cramping (like period cramps, but often worse). The best way to know is to have an ultrasound done. They can look for the heartbeat of the baby.
