To hook up a cable receiver and a dvd player to you TV you can use the Coaxle,HDMI or the S-Video hook up. Follow your TV manual for the best picture,The HDMI is the best but most Cable receivers don't have HDMI outputs but newer dvd players do the S-video will need audio cables.

Buy an Rf Modulator. You hook the cable receiver into the in and connect the television to the out. Then connect the dvd player through the red, white, and yellow component cables.

You can connect your cable receiver jack to your television port which will be named as RF. Also you can connect your DVD player cables to your television port which will be named as AV. You can connect the pin to port according to the colors in it.
