How do I go about making a steam bath for my kitten?

Steam can help break up mucous and can help de-congestion. You can keep the kitten in the bathroom when you shower. Keeping it in a carrier next to the tub and run hot water into the tub can help. There may be specialized nebulizer you can buy for pets.

Hi, I normally Just place the cat in the bathroom, Open the shower Curtain 1/4 of the way and turn the water all the way to hot.

I've never heard about steam bathing a kitten, before. They are usually not crazy about water. But If you run hot water in your bathroomit will make steam if you keep the doors closed. THen you can bring your cat in once you have stam.
