A combination of psychotherapy and medication management is apt to be helpful. In psychotherapy, the focus should be on the thought processes that trigger anxiety, and a careful delineation of what is likely or probable instead of focusing on what is remotely possible. How we think about circumstances around us may matter more than the circumstances themselves.

It would be best to find someone you trust, such as a psychologist, to speak with. In such situations, they are trained to specifically deal with situations just as these.

I make it a point to be very clear as to my level of actual risk vs. percieved risk. Very few people are harmed by terrorist acts directly. Less than 1/10th of a percent of American's have been. The point of the attack is to make people scared and I simply refuse to let that purpose succeed.

Find a Mental Health Professional that doesn't just take note, but expects you to be pro-active in your treatment as he is; one who runs tests and feedback skills. It is NOT "9/11" our culture has become too pragmatic to practice tradition: Happy Third Thursday! Merry 12/25!!! Be Traditional too

9/11 was an inside job, so if you are afraid of anyone it should be the government not the terrorists. But the government is stupid so don't be afraid of them either.
