How do I get smoke odors out of clothes?

I tried washing but the odor is still there.

After washing the item, you might try sprinkling the smelly clothes with baking soda. Let it sit overnight, then vacuum. You might also try spraying the item with Febreze.

You will have to add more detergent than the recommended amount and also add fabric softner to the wash also. Wash them twice usually helps with the smell.

Try adding a bit of Oxy Clean or Mr.Clean with Febreze to your wash for removal in the washing machine. If you do not want to run it back through a second time, then just use regular Febreze the same as you would on a piece of furniture. Takes it right out.

The bset thing to do is bring them to the dry cleaners and tell them your problem. They should be able to wash it in a way that gets the smoke smell out.
