How do I get rid of slugs on my lettuce crop?

Salt's fine, just avoid the roots. Also try mostly burying a small plastic cup by the lettuce with a little bit of beer in. The slugs fall in and drown.

Salt *will* harm lettuce. Buy a six pack of beer CANS, not bottles. Cut the top off the cans without spilling the beer (or empty them and then refill once this is done, and bury these cans so that the slugs can just go right on into the beer. Be sure not to cover the top. They will drown.

If you are concerned about the environment you can spray them with a natural product that you can obtain easily for example with beer or diatomaceous Earth that dry the animal
