You would have to go to the airline or when booking, find an airline that has a layover that is the length you would like.

If you are making your arrangements, schedule flights with long layovers in between. You can ask your travel agent to do the same. Keep in mind that most airports are located a good way from the heart of the city, so if seeing the sites if the goal, at least plan to stay overnight.

Current travel websites, and airline ticket search engines offer a great variety of options when doing a search to book a trip, you can try to book the flight that accommodates the number of hours that you are trying to spend on your layover and if it is not offered as a choice, you can try with a travel agency.

Make your first stop at Lourdes, France and claim to see the virgin in an unflattering situation. From then on, at all your subsequent stops, you will be mobbed by Catholics who won't let you leave until you answer all their questions.
