It could be several things possibly going wrong. Check the cables going in for video, if something is loose, hopefully it is that. There might be a loose connection inside the television, or a component on the way out. If it's not a cable, take it to a repair place.

I would first recommend that you check the plug and outlet. A loose fitting plug could cause this problem. Too, you could have a problem with your picture tube. A failing tube will cause the picture to fluctuate.

It could be due to a loose projection tube. If it is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer directly. If not you might have to send it to a repairman.

I'm going to need more information than that. Your best bet is to have a repair technician take a look at it. It doesn't sound like something you can fix yourself.

Assuming that it's an LCD tv it's likely that the small fluorescent lights that serve as a backlight for the screen need to be replaced.

Flickering usually always means that your lamp is going out. The good news is that it might just be the bulb that needs replacing which is a relatively simple fix. But if the motherboard or the electrical unit is going out, then it's time for a new TV.

It sounds stupid, but have you checked to see if the television plug is securely in the outlet? I had this problem before and that's what was wrong.

If your televsion is hooked into cable or VIOS it may be that service that causes your flickering. It may be a power surge in the electrical socket, try another.
