Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter installation is not too difficult as long as you turn off power first and follow instructions, but do not attempt if you are a complete amateur.

It depends on your skill level and knowledge with electricity. It is a pretty easy job depending on the type of gfci being installed. If it just a outlet type then it is similar to installing a regular outlet. inline CFCI for pools or hottubs can be semi difficult and require their own circuit.

GFCI is relatively simple. If you can replace a regular receptacle you can install a GFCI. Most GFCI's purchased and hardware stores include instructions and a diagram on how to properly connect it. The basic connections are very similar to installing a regular receptacle with the exception of having specifically labelled terminals for the incoming and outgoing wires.
