How did the Europeans in Africa help develop those countries?

They did create industries and bring money/ resources to African nations, but "help" is hardly the word I would use. It was more like exploitation by the Europeans.

Europeans in Africa unified the tribes into colonial administrations, then built roads, railroads, mines, foresting operations, plantations, schools, government offices, hospitals, christian churches, modern ports, and a variety of other types of infrastructure. They also brought western concepts of government to Africa, such as democracy and centralized government. Africans frequently opposed these efforts.
