Goldstein died of an overdose in his New York apartment. When his body was found, a glass crack pipe and numerous prescription pill bottles were nearby. The medical examiner responsible for declaring the cause of Goldstein's death ruled it an accidental overdose due to a lethal combination of drugs.

Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, died of a drug overdose in 2009. He had been sober for years. He on a plane the crashed in 2008; many considered this to be the catalyst that lead to his return to drug use and overdose.

Adam Goldstein or DJ AM died of a drug overdose in August 2009. He had many problems with depression after surviving a horrible plane crash that only he and Travis Barker (drummer from Blink 182) walked away from just the year before.

D.J. Adam Goldstein was fortunate to survive a plane crash last year (along with the drummer from Blink 182). Goldstein however had a horrible drug addiction, and overdosed in his Manhattan apartment building last year. Goldstein was to do a real life sitcom on addiction this upcoming year before his death.

On September 19, 2008, DJ AM performed at a college event with frequent collaborator Travis Barker, DJ AM was seriously injured when a Lear jet he was traveling in crashed on takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. THAT CRASH critically injured DJ AM Multiple source are reporting that DJ AM was found dead in his New York City apartment this morning.

Adam Goldstein, known to the world as DJ AM, died on 8/28/09 due to an accidental drug overdose. DJ AM had problems with drugs in the past and survived a plane crash a year earlier but seemed to have overcome both. However, drugs ended his troubled life.
