How can you tell the difference between fake pearl rings and real ones?

Simply take a pearl and while holding with your fingers, place it between your top and bottom teeth, and gently scrape back and forth over the pearl. The more gritty the pearl is, the more valuable it is. This, of course is the hillbilly way to determine if a pearl is real.

The real pearl ring would have a real shining image like that of the pure milk whereas in case of fake pearl, you can peel it off.
