For the most part, and there are exceptions, kids who grow up with clear family values and a demonstrated faith base, as well as clear life goals, have greater success in life than those who do not. Understanding actions = consequences is a big part of that.

You become a law abiding citizen yourself and you also respect those who respect the law; you spend quality time with your son be more of his friend; you keep a watchful eye on your son's company.

I had little money and lived in a poor neighborhood. I sang, read to him, gave him books endlessly, gave up good jobs so I'd be home- took the whole crew EVERYWHERE, never let him go to homes unsupervised, but let his friends come to my house ALWAYS supervised. Love.

Unfortunately, even perfect parenting cannot guarantee that one's children do not become criminals. All you can do is raise them the best you know how, teach them to respect the law and to respect others, and hope for the best.
