Use a lemon and insert one piece of zinc and one piece of copper. (galvanized nails and pennies will work. ) To make a stronger current, link several "lemon batteries" together, connecting copper from one lemon to zinc of the next lemon, and so on.

One way is to make use of a magnet and a coil of copper wire. What needs to be done is to rotate the coil in the magnetic field of the magnet. That action will create "electricity".

Electricity can be created by chemical reactions as in batteries or mechanically by turning a coil of wire within a magnetic field as with generators.

If you have access to magnets and some force of rotary motion, like muscle power, wind, or a water wheel, you can create electricity from rotary motion. If you don't have access to permanent magnets you should consider making your own battery using vinegar and strips of different metals like aluminum foil and galvanized steel.
