How can I troubleshoot a problem with my DSL?

My computer won't connect to the internet. I have DSL service. How do I determine the problem?

Do you have access to the router?. If the answer is yes, open a http connection to the router and look at the DSL status ( usually there is a tab named connection, status, or something like that ). You can also check the LEDs on the router ( Red=bad, Green=good )

First you should check all exterior connections. Is the cable from the wall tightly attached to the box? Is the cable from the box attached tightly attached to the computer?

Check to see if all of your cables for your internet box are properly connected to your computer. Make sure your internet is not in "work offline mode". If you did that and that is not the problem contact your service provider. They are supposed to fix any problems with their service.

Try that: * use another browser * restart your computer * push the reset button on your internet box * be sure, that your neighbours are not using your account over WiFi * Switch off WiFi and use a cable instead - if not possible take ethernet over power lane.
