You should bring things up when you truly feel as though you and the other party are ready for them to be resolved. Once everything is hashed out, you need to find closure and then never bring it up again. It is the only way to move on and forward in life.

If you aren't sure you should bring it up, sleep on it. In the morning you can evaluate it with a clear head and decide if you still think it's important to talk about or not. If you decide to talk about it, you'll already have a cool head to discuss it.

The best way to judge whether or not to let things go or hold on to them is simply let the matter die down for a day or two and if it is still bothering you after a set period it is a matter that needs addressed.

You should only let things go for two reasons: it is not affecting your everyday life and the problem is solved. I only bring them up if: the things will not go away and your life sucks because of it! If none of this applies then...let it go!
