How can I tell if the papillary distance is wrong in my glasses?

The distance between the center of the pupil of your right eye to the center of the pupil of your left eye is the papillary distance. This measurement must be carefully taken because if it is incorrect, even just minimally, you will not be able to see well with your glasses.

you can check it your self using a mirror or the help of someone else. A second option would be to double check with your nearest optical center to verify that your glasses are set for the correct distance.

You can rough measure by dotting the uppermost point of the convex curve on the front of your lenses with non-permanent pen. Measure in millimeters the distance between the marks.

Shift the glasses left, right, up and down until you see a clear image in the distance. If the glasses are clearer anywhere other than resting comfortably on your nose ,it is possible the Pupillary Distance is incorreect. The pupillary distance is different in the distance portion versus near portion.
