What I would do is buy books that he can learn from, or go to a library and look at the pictures. But the way technology is today you can just go on a website and see videos on how to throw one. I have in the past and worked for me.

A change up should be thrown like a fastball. The key to reduced velocity is the grip on the pitch. One possible change up grip is to hold the ball with 3-4 fingers instead of the 2 used for a fastball and apply more pressure to the ball.

The circle change up is the best way to thow this off speed pitch. The grip consists of making a 'cicle' with your first finger and your thumb, and you throw the pitch as if you are throwing a fastball.

A change up has the same arm motion as a fastball. Make an "OK" symbol with your pitching hand. The ball should rest on the "O" part with the other 3 fingers lightly around the ball. Keep your weight on your back leg. Congratulations! You just threw a circle change.
