If you're having issues with a new cat biting, the first thing you can do is give it some space. Cats are very territorial animals, and until they're comfortable with their environment, they can be aggressive. After some time has passed, try to get to know your cat. If problems persist, contact a veterinarian.

One effective way is to keep water close by and lighty sprinkle it on the cat and tell it no in a firm voice, or say ouch in a loud high pitched voice when they do it.

Cats will bite sometimes when touched in sensitive areas such as around the whiskers. Find out when your cat is biting to see if there is a medical problem or injury. Other cats bite playfully and a simple squirt of water will end this habit. A cat may also need toys to curb boredom.

It is a disease and easily pass from one cat to other cats. The only way is vaccination. For this, the cat should be kept in a comfortable place and proper vaccination is required at least once in a year to prevent before such types of diseases affect the cat.
