How can I repair a Toyota Echo speedometer?

My speedometer quit working.

You have to remove the main dash panel. I would get a replacement from the junk yard. It really isn't worth the amount of work.

Unscrew 2 screws from trim ring around gauge cluster. 4 screws holding gauge cluster pull out. move wiring from back, cluster from dash, press locking clips. Hold speedo into cluster.

You'll need to open up the dash first. You can remove the glass with a pick, just be careful not to damage it. Once you've opened it up it'll be fixed by one of 2 things, either replacing the fuse, or rewiring the main ballast. You should consult your use manual.

Remove 2 screws from trim ring around the gauge cluster. Also the 4 screws holding the gauge cluster and then pull it. Remove the wiring at the back, also the cluster from the dash, press locking clips. Remove the clear plastic cluster face and screws holding the speedo into cluster.

All the things to take off -> dash panel off, 2 screws around gauge cluster, 4 screws holding gauge cluster pull it out. Remove wiring,and the clear plastic.

I think you might need to replace it. But you would have to talk to a professional about it to find out for sure.
