How can I re-create a show desktop icon?

You can display it by right-clicking the taskbar, then you still have the option "Toolbar" and select "Quick Start", you can see the icon in your taskbar.

If u deleted the third party software's icon from the desktop, then just go to Start -> All Programs -> " Locate the deleted software's icon and right click then click on 'Send to Desktop'. You deleted the icons like My computer..., go to properties and click on 'Customize Desktop Icons'.

first you need to locate where the file is installed on the computer. find the shotcut and click on it and say send to desktop (create shotcut)

right click on the task bar in the windows xp. select the option toolbars. and then you select the option quick launch. then you can see the quick launch bar beside the start button. there showing the show desktop icon. you drag that icon to your desktop and use.
