Yucca Cane are often over watered and this is what causes the root rot. Moderate moisture is all that is needed. Be sure the water is draining properly.

Make sure your yucca cane plants do not come in contact with another yucca that has root rot. It will spread from the diseased plant and infect your healthy plant. Dispose of the yucca plant with rot as well as its soil and container to keep the disease from spreading.

Yucca cane rot could be prevented by selecting good setts for planting. The disease could be prevented by proper watering in a overhead manner. Regular use of fungicide would reduce the infestation.

If you are wanting to prevent the rot on this type of plant you will need to soil it correctly. If you use any kind of dirt the plant will not work right.
