How can I prevent losing muscle mass in my legs?

I am starting a new exercise routine and need suggestions on exercises I can do that will prevent muscle loss in my legs.

Absolutely the best way for exercising all leg muscles is doing squats. Do it in series for 4 days a week. You can put some weight on you back to increase the resistance but doing them with your own weight is good enough. You should do proper squats with straight backs.

It is very important to exercise every day, especially if your getting on the elderly side. Also, make sure to eat a large variety of good foods and to get your right pretein ration on a daily basic. Why not join a WMCA or a YMCA and be part of team and enjoy exercising with them.

If you are continuing to do an exercise routine you most likely won't losing, but gaining muscle mass. Focus on leg strengthening exercises at least twice a week.
