How can I make laundry dried on a clothesline softer?

Avoid drying them in direct sunlight and use a detergent with fabric softener added, such as Tide with Downey. It also smells nice.

I would suggest when you put your clothes into the washer to also use a liquid fabric softener, that should help a little with the stiffness you usually get with clothes dried outside.

If you want to hang your clothes on a clothesline to dry. I found that if you add liquid fabric softner while the clothes are washing helps. After they are done washing and you put them on the clothesline,they dry and are as soft as if you dried them in the dryer
