How can I make a quilt from sweatshirts?

I have heard about this and it seems like a good idea.

Gather assorted sweatshirts, colors of your choice. Cut squares or shape desired from each and sew together creating seams. Do this until you have obtained the desired size quilt you would like. Finish by steaming the seams flat, cut backing from chosen material and sew to quilt top.

Cut the sweatshirts into squares of the size that you want. Sew the squares into rows and then sew the rows together.

Sweatshirt quilts are made the same way as "regular" quilts, except you cut out the squares from old sweatshirts instead of bolts of fabric.

Basically you cut up the shirt into whatever size pieces you want and sew them together in whatever pattern you're interested in. Hope that helps.

In order to make this quilt, you would need to be an experienced quilter. You would have to make strips from the sweatshirt and than cut into squares. Sewing them together will be hard as this material is stretchy. I would suggest hand piecing and sewing.
