Before installing tile on a plaster wall please ensure the integrity of the wall, that it is stable enough to hold the weight. Next step is to prep the plaster wall. If you go to your hardware store you can buy a plaster wall prep kit, it comes with directions. Next use bond coat to adhere the marble tiles.

My highest recommendation would be to tear the plaster down and put up concrete backerboard. The plaster walls will probably not be able to hold the heavy tile well and could end up with a more costly repair.
