Open the pits remove the seeds. Put the seeds in water for about two week and allow them to hydrate and start to "mature" before planting them in good soil.

Start by soaking the pits in a root stimulation solution in a dark dry place like a cupboard or pantry. Let the cherry pits soak for at least 24 hours. Remove pits from solution and plant them.

You can, just keep the pits in paper towels in the freezer for a week first. Then, plant them. They need indirect sunlight and damp soil. CAUTION: They take many years to begin producing cherries.

Growing a Cherry tree form a cherry pit is not a good idea, you need a tree that's right for your growing zone. Also it will take years before you will actually have a viable tree instead, purchase a Cherry tree with two years worth of growth. That way in a matter of 3 years, you will have Cherries.

Yes, but it will take a very long time. I would recommend buying a juvenile tree at a nursery and ask the attendant for further care.
