The best suggestion is to see a chiropractor. Trying anything yourself on your neck can be very dangerous. Chiropractors are very skilled, and not to mention you feel great after!

Try to raise the height of your computer monitor so you don't slouch. Make sure your back is supported by a good chair, or add a lumbar cushion to correct posture. Make your work area as ergonomic as possible. Shrug your shoulders to loosen the muscles of the neck.

The best way to get rid of a crick in ones neck is to relax the neck either with aspirin or through the use of a hot water tub or whirlpool.

Many people tend to perform an activity that keeps their head turned in one position. This can cause stiffness or slight pain. You can alleviate this by slowly rotating your head down, to the left side, back, and to the right side. Do this several times, slowly.

Heat and massage are the worst for crick neck!!!!!!!! I get it all the time and the best thing is ice! It reduces inflamation! And don't drink alcohol it makes you lose electrolytes and minerals like magnesium which causes muscle cramps. Put ice directly on site every couple hours.
